From the end of the Roman occupation through the Anglo-Saxon and Viking invasions - a new way of testing DNA in ancient bones could force a rethink of key moments in Britain's early history, say researchers.

Scientists could already track big alterations in DNA that occur over thousands or millions of years, helping us learn, for example, how early humans evolved from ape-like creatures.

Now researchers can identify subtler changes over just hundreds of years, providing clues as to how people migrated and interacted with locals.

They are using the new method to analyse human remains found in Britain, including from the time when Romans were replaced by an Anglo-Saxon elite from Europe.

The original Brits before the Roman occupation had long Iberian/ Celtic shaped heads. Over here in England we see a huge amount of them.
The Celt intermarried with the Germanic tribes that took over. The headshape of the Anglo Saxon is much shorter, this you can now see in the British population.

British have a prominent Occipunt, whilst the Germanic head has a flat Occipunt.

German heads are called Brachycephalic 

British Celtic heads are Dolichocephalic

The iberian long head farmers/agriculturists from Iran/Turkey took over the U.K. after the ice age. 
In the U.K. we see our unique heritage all around us.   That is why I have 2% Spanish/Portuguese DNA's still


This new supposed test is superfluous.

I tend to be very skeptical of "ground breaking" things. I tease Sunsettommy endlessly as I generally deal in things I can observe and replicate.  If these folks have their ducks in a row, it will be a huge step forward in understanding our genetics.
