I'm still getting used to the forum... did you know that if you remove the fully-quoted prior post within a reply, it erases that prior post? Yeah, I did that and had to reconstruct the post.

I'm still getting used to the forum... did you know that if you remove the fully-quoted prior post within a reply, it erases that prior post? Yeah, I did that and had to reconstruct the post. 

let me guess, you were still in the original post.  If you are in the Original Post. deleting the text will remove that content. Please note that if there were no replies to the OP the new info is added to the OP and not a new post. You will note the lines in the OP. these are posts you made before a reply by another person was made.

Quick question... how do I get an inline textual link to a URL, rather than the Embedly box?

I've tried:

<a href="http://URL OF THE FILE">text</a>

... but that just displayed the HTML code (even when not inside a Code wrapper).

Embedly is a plug in for the forum to automatically post the link and the article headline in a text post as shown here in this LINK from post #4 in this forum.


If you wanted to use a link to install the URL just click on the link image that is to the right mail envelope image, be sure to highlight the word first.

Ok, it shows up in the WYSIWYG editor as a textual link... last time I tried that, the actual post showed the Embedly box... let's see... posting now.

No, I didn't even know the forum had the ability to upload files, so I was attempting to link to the paper I'd written, stored on udrop.com.

Now that I know, I'll upload it to that post in the other forum.

Nope, it's not letting me upload... it says the maximum file size is 2048 kB. The file is 2.7 MB.

If there's a problem with the space in the name, I can convert it to Climate_Sanity.pdf.

Compressed, it's 2.4 MB (2,391,391 bytes).

It's named Climate Sanity.pdf.

If there's a problem with the space in the name, I can convert it to Climate_Sanity.pdf.

Compressed, it's 2.4 MB (2,391,391 bytes).

I just needed the file itself which is PDF, will change it in the admin board, hold on.


EDIT: It is now nearly 6 MB file size as is the Zip file.
