There are stories all over about how dangerous the next El Niño will be.  When we look at the empirical evidence however, it appears the peak has been reached in May already, short of the moderate El Niño threshold.  You will note that it takes 90-days of sustained ocean surface temperatures to claim this. We have not yet breached this basic threshold but the indications are that the heat stored has already been depleted.

Not sure where they are getting their numbers from, but someone has really got a hope and poke mentality at NOAA and NASA.  The empirical evidence is saying NO to any El Niño.  Just a moderation before going cold again.  Note the fall off slope of the second peak.  This indicates that the heat has been used up.

As I have said many times, man caused CO2's impact cannot be discerned from noise in our climatic system.  It has always been a lie and a power grab.

The peak has been reached and we are on the way down now. 0.58 Deg C was the peak and now we are sitting at 0.52 Deg C.   Warm pools are depleted, this will not last long.

What is hilarious is that they know E-Nino's drives up air temperature then leaves the system in the year in various ways which leaves out CO2 because after El-Nino's dissipate no more warming of the air then a cool down occurs nearly back to pre El-Nino level.

This rapid spike is going to be a rapid descent in the next month or so.  There is simply no energy to sustain an El Niño event.  they will get their water into the atmosphere, but the La Niña flow aloft continues.  That should tell you all you need to know on how long this will last.

The current peak has held steady for five days without further rise. The fall will be just as rapid.

Something doesn't pass the smell test...  We have NEVER had a rise of this magnitude since recordkeeping has begun. Privately owned and maintained systems say we peaked over a month ago and are already on the way down. I guess an FOIA request for the unaltered data is in order.  The NASA/NOAA numbers do not match systems they were almost in concert with just three months ago.
